German military cemetery in Prilep (Германските воени гробишта во Прилеп, Deutsch Soldatenfriedhof in Prilep)

On the German military cemetery in Prilep (Германските воени гробишта во Прилеп, Deutsch Soldatenfriedhof in Prilep) on area of 7,200 square meters are buried 1683 German soldiers (of which 45 from World War II), 40 Austro - Hungarian soldiers, 39 Bulgarian, 33 soldiers from the territory of former Yugoslavia, Romanian 21, Russian 10, 8 Albanian and 5 Turkish soldiers buried during World War II.
Here also is buried 19 -year-old Heinrich Ebert, son of the first president of Germany, Friedrich Ebert (1871–1925). Heinrich Ebert died in Prilep military hospital on 14 February 1917.
After the liberation of Prilep, unlike in other cities in Macedonia, Prilep military cemeteries were destroyed.
In 2006 started the restoration project funded by the German government in cooperation with the local government, which was completed in 2009.
