Dojran military cemetery near village Doirani, Greece was
formed in 1916 as a cemetery for the British soldiers fighting on the
Macedonian Front during the First World War. The cemetery was originally known
as Colonial Hill Cemetery No.2, and within were buried the British soldiers
that died during the operations in spring 1917 and during the breakthrough of
the Macedonian Front in autumn 1918.
After the end of the First World War within the cemetery
were brought graves from other locations and smaller cemeteries.
Today the cemetery contains 1,338 Commonwealth burials of
the First World War, 449 of them unidentified. There are is one French and 45
Greek war graves.
Nearby the cemetery is located the Doјran Memorial.
